Rising Wings, the intermediate group at the Drone Flight School Drone Club, is designed for students who have mastered the basics and are ready to take their drone skills to the next level. This program builds on foundational piloting knowledge, introducing advanced flight maneuvers, mission planning, and specialized applications like aerial photography, medical supply delivery, search-and-rescue simulations, and precision obstacle navigation. Members of Rising Wings refine their piloting techniques through a combination of simulated training exercises and real-world flight challenges, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge drone technology and automation.
Beyond technical skills, Rising Wings fosters strategic thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving, as students collaborate on mission-based projects that reflect real-world drone industry applications. Whether preparing for competitive drone racing, exploring STEM careers in aerospace and robotics, or working toward FAA Part 107 certification, students in Rising Wings develop the confidence, expertise, and leadership skills needed to thrive in the fast-growing world of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS). With a focus on both technical excellence and creative problem-solving, Rising Wings helps young pilots push boundaries and unlock new opportunities in the evolving drone landscape.
