AERO zipped through the air toward Thorn Hill, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows over the open fields. It was Tuesday, just before 5:30 p.m., and he didn’t want to be late for the Drone Club meeting. Inside the old community center, the club members were already gathering, setting up folding tables covered with toolkits, propellers, and racing frames. Mr. Allen, the club sponsor, waved everyone over and announced that tonight they’d be practicing precision flying — threading drones through a brand-new course of rings and narrow gates. AERO’s motors whirred in excitement as he floated into line, eager to take on the challenge.
The meeting buzzed with energy as drones zipped and swooped through the obstacle course. AERO cheered for his teammates with a few bright flashes from his signal lights, celebrating every smooth pass and daring maneuver. When it was his turn, he steadied himself, zipped forward, and gracefully navigated the course, completing the final ring with a playful flip. As the clock neared 6:30, the group circled up to talk about their plans for next month’s meeting. AERO hovered happily among them, feeling proud to be part of such a high-flying team.
